Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine

An acupuncturist and East Asian medical provider uses many modalities to help you heal. These can include, acupuncture, herbal remedies, bodywork (like tuina and shiatsu), cupping, guasha, moxa, breath work, meditation guidance, and qi gong and tai qi exercises and stretching,

Kayla has had a lifelong fascination with acupuncture and East Asian Medicine, having first begun receiving treatments as a teenager in Maine. She studied Biology and Holistic Health in college and completed her masters in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs at the Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine. Kayla is also currently pursuing her doctorate and is studying the use of psilocybin for psychiatric disorders through the lens of Chinese Medicine.

The acupuncture style she mainly used is a palpation based technique called Engaging Vitality while supplementing with many other styles/techniques and is often accompanied by Chinese herbal formulas, body work techniques like tuina and shiatsu, moxibustion, cupping, guasha, and qi gong instructions. She strongly believes that every body has the ability to heal itself and our job as practitioners is to offer guidance to reinforce this natural process.

Meche (pronounced “Meesh”) Kneidinger they/them or she/her

I am a licensed acupuncturist in Washington and nationally certified by the NCCAOM, with training from the Middle Way Acupuncture Institute. Before entering the world of East Asian medicine, I spent years working in farming and garden education—an experience that deepened my appreciation for our connection to the natural world. I see acupuncture as another expression of that connection, helping people return to balance and vitality.

I’ve supported clients dealing with pain, stress, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, and more. Drawing from several different acupuncture styles, I tailor treatments to each individual’s unique needs. I am trained in Qigong and love sharing that practice with clients as well. Outside of acupuncture, I love live music, being in the woods or on the water, and hanging with my family.

I provide an all-inclusive, accessible, body-positive environment. It is my goal to include, listen, and educate the patient on their healthcare journey. I provide highly-customized, clear, compassionate, gentle and effective, patient-led care. I seek to serve stressed-out humans in pain and transition, wishing to participate in their wellness goals. I look forward to meeting you and serving our community.

While there are many schools of acupuncture, my technique consists of a combination of Traditional Chinese, gentle Japanese, and the more modern school of Engaging Vitality taught by Dan Bensky, Marguerite Dinkins, Rayén Antón and the late Chip Chase. EV is a palpation-based method of practicing acupuncture that uses osteopathic diagnostic principles of examination.

Having a full tool kit of techniques gives me the flexibility to determine the method that will be most effective for treating your specific condition. We all have different bodies, and I believe that on different days, our bodies might need different care. Let’s talk about how East Asian Medicine can help you and your loved ones!
