Art and nature are things I am continually fascinated by. The practice of acupuncture and herbal medicine deepens that wonder. Seeing how unique each body is, and the many ways in which it is capable of transforming, is uplifting.
Beyond treating a wide variety of conditions from pain to chronic illness, my interest is in how acupuncture can be used as a somatic therapy for supporting those undergoing psychedelic integration.
Acupuncture and herbal medicine have helped me through some of the most challenging parts of my life. Studying this medicine at the Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine for my Master’s and Doctorate equipped me with some of the tools I use to help you through yours.

Meche (pronounced “Meesh”) Kneidinger they/them or she/her
I am a licensed acupuncturist in Washington and nationally certified by the NCCAOM, with training from Middle Way Acupuncture Institute. Before entering the world of East Asian medicine, I spent years working in farming and garden education—an experience that deepened my appreciation for our connection to the natural world. I see acupuncture as another expression of that connection, helping people return to balance and vitality.
I’ve supported clients dealing with pain, stress, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, and more. Drawing from several different acupuncture styles, I tailor treatments to each individual’s unique needs. I am trained in Qigong and love sharing that practice with clients as well.
Outside of acupuncture, I love live music, being in the woods or on the water, and hanging with my family.

Dr. Kayla Ruby
Kayla has had a lifelong fascination with acupuncture and East Asian Medicine since first receiving treatments for migraines at a young age. She majored in Biology and minored in Holistic Health at the University of Southern Maine and completed her Master’s and Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs at the Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine. She is currently studying the classical text the Neijing and practicing traditional Chinese calligraphy.
Her interests include geriatric care, digestive health, sports medicine and pro-metabolic nutrition. She mainly uses palpation-based techniques like Engaging Vitality and Channel Palpation while supplementing with many other styles. She often includes Chinese herbal medicine, body work techniques like tuina, dry needling, moxibustion, cupping, guasha, and qi gong in her treatments.
Kayla is enamored by the complexity and beauty of the human body and the environment, seeing no separation between the two. She believes that bodies have the innate ability to heal themselves when their pathways and patterns are flowing freely. East Asian Medicine is a tool to help unblock and keep the pathways open so the systems can properly function on their own. Every person is unique so treatments are customized to address individual needs at the time of care.

I provide an all-inclusive, accessible, body-positive environment. It is my goal to include, listen, and educate the patient on their healthcare journey. I provide highly-customized, clear, compassionate, gentle and effective, patient-led care. I seek to serve stressed-out humans in pain and transition, wishing to participate in their wellness goals. I look forward to meeting you and serving our community.
While there are many schools of acupuncture, my technique consists of a combination of Traditional Chinese, gentle Japanese, and the more modern school of Engaging Vitality taught by Dan Bensky, Marguerite Dinkins, Rayén Antón and the late Chip Chase. EV is a palpation-based method of practicing acupuncture that uses osteopathic diagnostic principles of examination.
Having a full tool kit of techniques gives me the flexibility to determine the method that will be most effective for treating your specific condition. We all have different bodies, and I believe that on different days, our bodies might need different care. Let’s talk about how East Asian Medicine can help you and your loved ones!
